Muscat: Residents in the northern governorates of Oman will continue seeing rain until Monday, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said.

Wilayats of the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi and Al Batinah witnessed isolated and sporadic rain for the third day in a row.

In its 24 hour outlook, the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, said: “Clear to partly cloudy skies over northern governorates with chance of isolated rain, occasionally thundershowers, over Musandam, Al Buraimi and north Al Batinah and Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas.

Mainly clear skies over rest of Sultanate with chances of dust winds over desert and open areas.”

Meanwhile Oman will continue to experience the strong winds until Monday.

“A trough is passing by which will bring in dust from the desert,” a MET office said.

According to Oman’s meteorology authority, “Sporadic and at times thunderous rains will continue to fall over the Northern governorates of the Sultanate during the next two days (Sunday, March 17 and Monday, March 18).”
